My favourite is Love Story by Eric Segal. I also like Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice and short stories of O Henry, Maupassant and plays of Anton Chekhov. Liked reading PL Deshpande's Asa mi Asami (marathi), Swami by Ranjit Desai (Marathi), Gurazada Apparao's Kanyasulkam (Telugu), Vishwanatha Satyanarayana's Veyi Padagalu (Telugu) - still reading this one and Premchand's Godan (Hindi) among others.

Vandemaatram "the.sharang",

I thank you for starting this forum on such a wonderful subject.

Thank you friends for quoting such brillant books, I really appreciate it.

I have read some of the books mentioned above & they are absolutely brillant but I have a humble request for all of you.

I would like to request you guys to take little bit of your time to read newspapers also. It will help us to understand where all of us stand as Indians. We always complain about things going wrong but no one listens to us because we are scattered. When someone cries for help, there is hardly anyone who even looks at the direction of the victim & later on when the circumstances make us the victim, then we get the same treatment what we had given in the past. This goes on forever. Lets stop it. Lets get united with the help of these forums. Lets be Indian first. Lets change our attitude towards our country & our people.

The Forums here are created to communicate with each other so lets communuicate with each other for the betterment of each other to help each other. The word "Country" consists of your family & friends plus my family & friends. Lets do something that will make our family & friends proud to be associated with us. Lets show the world that India is not ruled by snake charmers anymore. Its ruled by intellegent, educated & responsible people like us.

Lets not look at this message as someone trying to be oversmart. Lets look at it as a heartfelt appeal, an urge, a request by someone who is within you, someone deep inside you who loves his/her country & has the same feeling to do something constructive for the nation. If you have it in you then your spirit will definetely RAZE. If not, then I am sorry to waste your time.

Thanks for your time.

With lots of hope from my fellow countrymen....

there are two...
Jack and Jill - James Patterson
Veronika Decides to Die - Paulo Coelho

Bothe are from diff genres, but the best part abt them is that they are meant for sharp minds.. made by sharp minds... i think paulo has described the madness in the best form ever... he has told us wat life can do... and wat we do...
while james' book was a thriller.. abt psychopath killers.. he really does know how to create mystery... the sequel to this book is Pop goes the weasel... which equally gud... but since i read the 'jack and jill' first...

REVIEW ON BOOK - ANGELS & DEMONS
By Dan Brown

Dear friends,
I have recently read book Angels & Demons by Dan Brown and I loved and liked this book very much.
This book is on theme that how Dharma Gurus of Christianity or any other religion do not support science and feel science as threat to their customs and traditions coming all the way centuries together.
In this book evils intentions of Christian Pops and Cardinals against an Invention by physicist which was about to prove the mystery of creation of earth by big bang theory and practically actualization of the same in small amount of mater and antimatter.
The physicist was devoted catholic scientist and he wanted to use this theory of him for the mankind.
This book has created very good suspense and till last the author keeps us curious and eager to read further.
This book has elaborated Vatican City and its various parts, Pizzas, cathedrals, citadels, catholic libraries and in general Christianity and its various customs and traditions in such a way that reader just feel like actually roaming in Vatican City of Rome.
This book also expresses about how destructive inventions we humans are doing that at the end these our own inventions will destroy mankind itself from this beautiful planet earth.
When you read this book some times you feel that oh! These religious leaders are really against science and want to divert minds of human being from science and making them feel that GOD, who’s existence was never proved is supreme power but suddenly at one point we start feeling that right, how far this science may go advance but there is still one power which motivates us and that is GOD.
Any way I would like to recommend this book to everybody who love to read and like suspense in life and I wont disclose the suspense in my review.
I also believe in God and his world class suspense novel of which no astrologer, numerologist, forecast teller, palmistry reader could ever crack that suspense.
My own statement – Our life is like a suspense novel and every coming day is a page of the book, we are living this multi page suspense novel day by day in anticipation to know about the end of suspense, when the author or writer of this novel has already completed this book and wrote it’s the end before we started reading this book.
Don’t you this that our almighty GOD already knows that how our life book has its end.
Well friends do read this book and wait for my next review of next book, well that’s suspense !!

Hi all,

I would like to comment on this. According to me a book by Robin Sharma named “WHO WILL CRY WHEN YOU DIE” is amazing & each and every person should read this book.
I have read this book 2 or 3 times when I was working in CROSSWORD- the book store.
I would recommend this book for all self improvement section lovers.
